Every winter, there’s the Christmas Parade, the lights on High Street, the Dorchester Chorus. But the holidays in Cambridge would not be complete without – the Train Garden.
Every year, for 91 years and counting, the Rescue Fire Department volunteers go a step further, adding to the display of model trains, and more impressively, the local area captured in miniature.
It all comes to life 6- 9 PM each day in December – except Christmas. And for just as long as there’s been a train garden, there have been children scampering through the old fire engine bays in the old Cambridge City Hall, from one scene to the next.
You might remember Andrew Bradshaw as the mayor of Cambridge, but he, too, takes on a role of his own when it comes to the Train Garden. On this visit, he becomes the conductor of our tour.
