WFHW - Who We Are

Rooted in the spirit of Harriett Tubman—freedom fighter and visionary of Dorchester County—WFHW 90.3 FM is dedicated to unearthing unheard sounds and untold stories. From deep-cut jazz and RnB, to folk and spoken word, WFHW is a sanctuary for music discovery and a megaphone for the marginalized.

“Our goal is simple: amplify voices that matter, and music that moves,” said Amanda Tilghman, Assistant General Manager of Harriett Tubman Radio. “We’re curating a program schedule that goes beyond the mainstream—music that could fit everyone’s taste paired with raw, honest conversations from the people who live here.”

The station’s programming lineup features all the hosts that have been on WHCP, and has added many more voices of the community, like Linda Harris, Director of the Harriet Tubman Museum, and the youth of BAAM!

WFHW also invites community members to host their own shows, submit original music, or volunteer behind the scenes. Special emphasis is placed on uplifting Black, Indigenous, LGBTQ+, youth, and immigrant voices across Dorchester, Talbot, Caroline, and surrounding counties.

Available online here at wfhw.org and soon on FM radio, the station is building a listening experience that’s as real and rooted as the communities it serves.
