Dr. Bill Dennison, Vice President for Science Application at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science

Dr. Bill Dennison is the Vice President for Science Application at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, a position that he has held for 23 years. He founded an active group of Science Integrators and Science Communicators in the Integration and Application Network, who develop science communication products and environmental report cards globally. He is passionate about making science more accessible to broad audiences to support better environmental management, particularly in the Chesapeake Bay. Bill serves as Vice-Chair on the Science and Technical Advisory Committee for the Chesapeake Bay Program. His group has produced the annual Chesapeake Bay & Watershed report card. Prior to coming to Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Bill spent ten years in Australia at the University of Queensland. He received a PhD from the University of Chicago and an MS from the University of Alaska. He lives in Easton with his wife Judy and his grown daughters are living in Australia. He recently spoke with WHCP's Ben Brunner about the strides that local NGO's are making in improving the health of the Chesapeake Bay and raising awareness about issues facing the bay.
