This special edition of Sunday Service is built around one artist: Janet Jackson. Guest selector DJMAKO_KOBE works through the extended and club versions of her catalog, the 12-inch mixes that took her records from radio to the dance floor.
The set runs from new jack swing (“Nasty,” “Miss You Much,” “Rhythm Nation”) into the house remixes, including David Morales’ 1995 take on “When I Think of You” and Shep Pettibone’s “Legendary Club Mix” of “The Pleasure Principle.” Much of this catalog was produced with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and these remixes show how close R&B and house have always been.
Hosted by Jair Devereaux. 54 Minutes. 3 Segments. 1 Intention.
