Cambridge, Gov Moore, Star in First of CBS Town Halls

Demonstrators for and against Gov. Wes Moore showed up at the Packing House during the CBS taping.

A CBS hand-picked audience joined Gov. Wes Moore as host Nora O'Donnell interviewed Moore and presented screened audience questions Thursday night at the Packing House.

Outside, about 100 Moore supporters rallied for the Governor, while nearly 25 Moore detractors shouted insults.

The crowds traded slogans, but remained peaceful.

In the make-shift studio inside, O'Donnell asked Moore about being dis-invited this week to President Donald Trump's White House dinner with governors attending the National Governors Association convention.

Moore replied that he would not allow Trump to determine his worth, and said he will not attend a meeting of the governors with Trump next week.

"I'm good," he said.

People among the attendees gave high marks to the production and the exchanges , but several people identifying as Republicans said producers did not adequately present conservative concerns.

The Town Hall - the first in a series CBS is producing of governors facing constituents - will air nationwide on Sunday, Feb 15.
