On Juneteenth of 2025, Gov. Wes Moore made a pilgrimage to Bethel AME Church in Cambridge, announcing $400 million to fund restoration and advancement efforts in Maryland communities wracked by racism for generations.
Part Juneteenth celebration and part political rally, the event focused on Moore's signing of an executive order that would bring action to redress places effected by redlining, job and housing discrimination and other oppression.
