Learn about a forestry maintenance project taking place at the Blackwater Refuge.A 48 acre forest thinning project is taking place now on the refuge. This project will reduce the density of mature trees, increasing fruiting shrubs, vine tangles and young trees in the understory, providing habitat for songbirds, nesting turkey, and other wildlife.
