News on the fight against Covid in Dorchester.As of February 26th, DCHD has administered 4,577 first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. 13.7% of Dorchester County residents have received one dose. 8.2% of Dorchester County residents have received two doses. DCHD’s weekly allotment is 300 first doses. You can look for our vaccine tracker update every Friday, as data is available.We are still vaccinating individuals in 1B priority groups and appointments have been filled through March. The current demand far exceeds the supply. We continue to process all of the responses received through our online interest form and established a notification system to acknowledge receipt of submissions. We will call you to schedule an appointment when the vaccine becomes available to you.You can access our online interest forms in English and Spanish by visiting our website at dorchesterhealth.org and clicking on the links in the blue alert box. Please do not complete the form more than once per individual. Those in need of assistance with the online interest form can call DCHD at 410-228-3223 for assistance.If you would like to sign up to get vaccinated by other providers, please visit covidvax.maryland.gov to search for other vaccination sites.Please like and follow our page for updates. Dorchester County is part of the newly designated Chesapeake Country All-American Road, a more than 400-mile route from Chesapeake City to Smith Island! This national honor recognizes roadways with “notable scenic, historic, cultural, natural, recreational, and archaeological qualities.” In Dorchester, the designation includes several roadways as shown on this map."National Scenic Byways Program brings new jobs, tourism, and other benefits to communities along these scenic roads," Scenic America President Mark Falzone told Chesapeake Bay magazine.There are only two other All-American Roads in Maryland, and one of them is the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway, located in Dorchester and Caroline Counties.>> Read the story from Chesapeake Bay Magazine: bit.ly/3bEsVocMap courtesy of Maryland Scenic Byways.
